Boat Windows
My windows are made to traditional patterns unlike the modern "bus" windows used so much now,these windows are the best hard-wood boat windows available. and and are an excellent alternative boat window that are suitable for narrow boats,and wide beam or dutch barge. All my windows are hand-made,to order,so can be any size or shape, even round, as a replacement to fit existing openings in older boats, or new builds.
The windows are made of hard-wood such as utile (mohagany)or a durable
soft-wood such as Douglas-fir or yellow-pine,the choice is yours.The
windows are usually hopper style, the top opening in-wards.
All windows are supplied with architraves to fit on the inside, so no need to finnish of with bits of beading. The architraves can also be inlaid with Ebony and Rose-wood bandings, this can also be done on the out-side.
The windows are treated with Sikens to provide a tough weather proof finish,they are fitted from the out-side but fixed on the in-side so there are no visible fixings to corrode, then they are bonded and sealed with Sika Flex on the out-side, so no problems with leaks.
Double glazing is standard, laminated 6mm safety glass,and bonded into the frames with Sika Flex. All hinges and fastenings are best quality brass or chrome.
Maintenence is easy, just clean with a soft brush and soapy water, if
needed when dry a
coat of Sikens can be applied with a cloth.
